Native Doctor Arrested for ‘Burying Victims Alive’ in Soakaway, Including Pregnant Woman [LOOK]

ENUGU, Nigeria — The recent arrest of a native doctor in Enugu State has sent shockwaves across the country, not only for the horrifying crimes allegedly committed but also for the opulent lifestyle he flaunted in the weeks leading up to his capture.

According to local reports and viral footage circulating on social media, the native doctor, whose name is yet to be officially disclosed by authorities, was apprehended after human remains were discovered in a soak away pit at his residence.

Among the victims was a pregnant woman, reportedly buried alive — a detail that has further enraged and horrified the public.

The case came to light after residents in the area raised suspicions due to foul odours and strange movements around the compound. Investigations by security operatives led to the grim discovery.

In a disturbing twist, it has now emerged that the suspect had recently hosted a lavish traditional wedding, drawing attention for his extravagant display of wealth, including a motorcade of luxury cars, high-end clothing, and large-scale catering.

Footage from the ceremony shows guests dancing around heaps of cash as musicians praised the groom’s generosity.

The source of his wealth, it now appears, may have been rooted in gruesome rituals.

One of the victims

“Enugu native doctor busted burying victims alive in soakaway, including a pregnant woman,” read one viral post accompanied by crying emojis and videos from the scene.

“When we complain about people with untraceable sources of income flaunting unrealistic lavish lifestyles, the naive ones say we are jealous,” another commentator wrote on X (formerly Twitter), reflecting a broader sentiment among Nigerians who have long warned against the glorification of wealth without scrutiny.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to identify all the victims and determine the full extent of the crimes.

Community leaders and human rights groups have called for justice and urged the government to crack down on ritual-related violence and fraudulent spiritual practices masquerading as traditional medicine.

“This is not just a criminal act; it is a deep moral wound to our society,” said one resident of the Enugu community who asked not to be named.

“People should not die because someone wants to enrich himself at all costs.”

The Enugu State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the case.
