ABUJA, Nigeria — Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly, has accused his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, of drug and alcohol abuse following a viral video in which she alleged violence and mistreatment in their marriage.
The video, which circulated widely on Saturday, October 18, 2025, showed a tearful Daniels being consoled by friends as she said, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen. Not again, I cannot stand the violence; it is too much.”
Her remarks prompted public concern and speculation about domestic abuse in the couple’s home.
Responding on X (formerly Twitter), Nwoko denied the allegations of domestic violence and claimed instead that his wife’s alleged dependence on drugs and alcohol was the “root” of their marital troubles.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety,” he wrote.
The senator alleged that Daniels had recently moved to a location where she had “unrestricted access to drugs,” adding that her recent behaviour had turned violent towards household staff and property.
“I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting three staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause,” he stated.
Nwoko said he had urged Daniels to enter a rehabilitation programme either in Abuja’s Asokoro district or abroad — “preferably in Jordan” — where she would be away from alleged drug suppliers.
“A clear-headed Regina would have taken Moon to the hospital but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse for exposing her drug abuse,” the lawmaker claimed, referring to an incident involving their young son.
He further alleged that a close associate of Daniels, identified as “Sammy,” was her “main drug supplier,” and accused another acquaintance, described as “the tiny evil devil called Ann,” of enabling her addiction.
Nwoko said his concern was not for reputation but for his wife’s well-being.
“I fear for her well-being if she does not continue her rehabilitation,” he said, adding that her recent outbursts were “a clear manifestation of addiction.”
As of press time, Regina Daniels had not issued an official response to her husband’s claims.
The couple, who married in 2019 amid widespread media attention over their age difference, have two sons together.
