On the ongoing Oscar Pistorius trial, a former girlfriend took to the stand to testify that her relationship with the athlete ended when he cheated on her with Reeva Steenkamp, whom he fatally shot last year on Valentines Day.
In her testimony on Friday, March 7, 2014 Samantha Tayloralso said Pistorius carried a gun with him “all the time” while they were dating and on one occasion fired it through the car’s sunroof while they were driving.
Taylor got emotional through the testimony, the court adjourned briefly after she broke in tears.
Pistorius’ lawyer, Barry Roux, said he would produce emails between Taylor and Pistorius to show the cheating allegation was made up.
Pistorius says he killed Steenkamp in his home by mistake, thinking she was an intruder. Prosecutors say he intentionally killed her after an argument.
