LAGOS, Nigeria — In a renewed call for spiritual intervention amid Nigeria’s deepening economic crisis, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), will spearhead a national prayer session in July under the theme “Divine Intervention.”
The prayer session is scheduled to hold during the RCCG’s monthly thanksgiving service at the church’s national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos, and is being organised as a response to growing public despair over economic instability, inflation, and national insecurity.
Speaking through his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, Adeboye emphasised faith as a critical force in overcoming national challenges.
“Our nation, Nigeria, as well as other nations of the world, are going through a challenging time. However, the good news is that these challenges are surmountable by faith, if we do not entertain doubt,” Balogun quoted Adeboye as saying.
He urged Nigerians to resist despair and reject negative confessions, advocating instead for a faith-driven, optimistic outlook rooted in prayer and spiritual alignment.
“There is power in our words and in our faith. Divine intervention can reverse the downturn we see. But we must not give in to fear or hopelessness,” he added.
Also speaking ahead of the event, Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province 1, revealed that a dedicated team of intercessors is already at work, praying for Nigeria’s economic recovery, environmental stability, and national cohesion.
“We believe divine opportunities can open for Nigeria, but such doors require spiritual sensitivity and collective faith. God is still in the business of turning nations around,” Macaulay said.
He said the July session will serve as both a prophetic moment and a national altar, where believers from across the country will join in unified prayers for the second half of 2025.
