Hard To Move On: Pastor Still Parading As Policeman 19 Years After Being Dismissed In Lagos

A pastor has been arrested and charged before a magistrate court in Ejigbo, Lagos illegally parading himself as a policeman nineteen years after he was dismissed from police service for gross misconduct.

Augustine Kadurumba of Mountain of Solution ministry who resides at 20, Benson Onyeacholam street, Igando was ordered by the court to be remanded in Kirirkiri Prisons, Apapa.

According to the police, Kadurumba who was dismissed as a constable reportedly upgraded his identity card to that of a sergeant so as to keep up appearances with his mates who had achieved that rank.

He was accused of using the fake identity card to extort, harass, and intimidate unsuspecting people for nineteen years.

He met his Waterloo when he went to Ikotun Police Station in order to secure the release of a detained motorcyclists, introducing himself as an officer attached to the Festac area command. Investigations later revealed he was dismissed nineteen years ago and last served at Ajoromi police division, Ajegunle, Lagos.

He pleaded not guilty to the 2-count charge of impersonation and unlawful possession of police identity card.

The magistrate presiding over the case, P. E. Nwaka granted the accused bail of N50,000 with two sureties in the like sum.

The case was adjourned to Saturday, November 15, 2014.
