BIRNIN KEBBI, Nigeria — Dr. Paul Enenche, founder and senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, declined a ₦30 million donation offered by the Kebbi State Government during a major healing and deliverance crusade held in the state.

The incident occurred at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi, where thousands gathered for the Christian crusade organised by the church.

Representatives of the state government took the stage mid-programme to announce the contribution, approved by Governor Nasir Idris.

“Our Governor, the people’s governor, had graciously approved the donation of the sum of ₦30 million to this gathering,” the announcer proclaimed to the crowd.

“That is to the organising committee. Which you know that whenever His Excellency made a donation, he does not leave without bringing that donation in cash.”

Before the crowd could respond, Pastor Mrs. Becky Enenche, wife of the senior pastor, interrupted the announcement with a clear and firm “No, no,” through the microphone.

As the announcer continued with his presentation, she interjected once more with a calm but insistent, “Just hold on,” drawing applause from sections of the audience.

Dr. Enenche then took the microphone to address the matter directly, expressing appreciation but firmly declining the offer.

“We believe government money should be used for government projects and government things, and church money should be used for church things—not mixed together,” he said, receiving cheers from the audience.

The cleric further emphasised that the Dunamis Glory Dome, the church’s globally recognised headquarters in Abuja, was constructed without any contribution from government entities, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to financial integrity and independence.

“Our mandate is clear, and our mission is funded solely through the generosity and faith of our members and supporters, not through public funds meant for the people,” he said.
