PDP: Jalo Denies Having Issues With Metuh

Must read

Rumours have been circulating about a rift between the office of the deputy publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo and the national publicity secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh.

However, Jalo during a brief meeting with journalist in Lagos refuted the claims, saying the rumour was triggered by media misrepresentation.

Alhaji Jalo also commented on the statement made by the newly-appointed political adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Professor Rufai Alkali,  that if some people are not carried along in Gombe State, PDP could lose out in the 2015 general election in the state.

According to him, “There is need for the professor to expand his statement for the benefit of PDP in the state and Nigeria in general. Now that the transformation agenda of President Jonathan has been manifesting in Nigerian Railway Corporation and other sectors, Nigerians should support PDP in 2015 and beyond for more dividend of democracy.

Some concerned members of our great party, the PDP have drawn my attention to an erroneous publication in which some media houses are trying to bring unnecessary bickering between the office of the national publicity secretary of the party and my office as the deputy publicity secretary; where there is none.

“It is true that Metuh had issued a statement last Saturday congratulating the new Emir of Kano before the official declaration by the Kano State Government which was later corrected.

“At that material time, I was in Lagos to attend the inauguration of Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) by Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).”

“Another issue of importance is the statement credited to the newly appointed political adviser to the president, Alkali, on the June 1, 2014 edition of the Daily Trust Newspaper, where he granted an interview that if Gombe State government does not carry some people within the party along, there is the  likelihood of the opposition party to taking the advantage over PDP in the coming election 2015.

“There is need for the professor to expand his statement for the benefit of PDP in the state and Nigeria in general. Now that the transformation agenda of President Jonathan has been manifesting in Nigerian Railway Corporation and other sectors, Nigerians should support PDP in 2015 and beyond for more dividend of democracy.”
