Following the struggles by the federal government to bring an end to Boko Haram’s terrorist activities, President Goodluck Jonathan has demanded an external loan of $1 billion (N165 billion) from the House of Representatives.
This letter from the President was read on the floor of the house on Wednesday, July 16, 2014.
According to President Jonathan, the said money is to facilitate the smooth operations of the military in the fight against insurgency and also provide them with the necessary equipment needed for a successful operation.
