President Jonathan Will Win With More Than 64% Of Votes – PDP

Must read

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have expressed their belief that President Goodluck Jonathan will floor the opposition in the Saturday, February 14, 2015 in all six geo-political zones and will garner over 64% of votes.

Speaking to journalists of Friday, January 30, 2015, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said after reviewing its nationwide campaign rallies so far, it believed that the President Jonathan has a strong nationwide following and was received well in the North, stressing that the few attacks to the presidential motorcade was carried out by a few sponsored miscreants and does not in any way mean that the President was not loved in the region,

He said: “Our campaigns have been very successful and the President has been wonderfully received by Nigerians in all parts of the country. We have ran a superior campaign with our record of performance and Nigerians are convinced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its Presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari are no alternatives to the PDP and President Jonathan. If elections hold today, it is certain that President Jonathan will record a sweeping victory across board. In fact, we will win with over 64 percent.”

While noting that the APC campaigns have revealed that the opposition had nothing to offer except propaganda, insults, empty promises and inciting violence, Metuh said the PDP campaigns have brought up topical issues relevant for national development.

Metuh also used the opportunity to address the issue of some unwholesome utterances made by some supporters of President Jonathan, saying the PDP was not responsible for their statements as it has already stated its intent to eschew violence in the forthcoming polls in the interest of the nation.

He said: “President Jonathan can even be more loved in Sokoto than in Bayelsa his home state, President Jonathan can even be more loved in the South-West than the South-South. Mr. President is not an Ijaw President but the President of the entire nation.”
