As the 2015only a few weeks away, Senate President, David Mark has stated that the country was adequately prepare to vote in a free, fair and transparent environment.
Mark made the call in Abuja on Friday, January 16, 2015 while receiving the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, availing that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been fully equipped with necessary tools needed for a smooth conduct of the polls.
Senator Mark said: “Nigerians are ready for the elections. Our citizens are now more conscious of their rights and indeed the values of their votes. What we expect from our friends and the international community is support and cooperation.
“Security challenge is there but we have intensified efforts and our security operatives are now equipped to contain the situation. So far, Nigerians are desirous of a peaceful conduct of the elections. I’m sure the outcome would be cheering to all.”
Senator Mark further thanked the American government for their support in the country’s affairs, especially as regards the forthcoming election.
