REJOINDER: What I Think About Onyeka Nwelue And His Open Letter To Senator Bruce

Must read

by Hanah Benson

It is the norm in recent times to put a caveat in intervention articles claiming not to ‘hold the brief’ of the subject matter of the piece. I beg to differ. I am indeed holding the brief of Senator Ben Murray Bruce and if at the end of the response, Senator Bruce or his supporters find it worthy, they can chose to compensate me as the ‘spirit’ leads them.

READ: Onyeka Nwelue: An Open Letter to Senator Ben Murray-Bruce [The Trent Voices]

Dear Onyeka, I would start very brutally with you. 2011 was only 4 years ago so we are talking of recent times.

If 4 years ago, you self-confessed to be part of a fraudulent enterprise put together by MTN and MTV to deceive Nigerians, then you have no right of audience when we are discussing integrity. Why? Because, you have shown us that you are corrupt, you don’t have a mind of your own, once there is are benefits accruable to you, you would compromise. In your own words, you were invited to EKO Hotel (The Pent?) by MTN and MTV and you were given scripts to act out to the world. You went along, deceived the whole world; lap up the MTV/MTN hospitality and 4 years later, you come thumb in mouth – sucking!!!

Onyeka, your young, righteous conscience 4 years ago did not push you out of EKO Hotel and run, run, run. You instead acted your background/upbringing and I tell you what, you are tainted for life.

Moving on Onyeka, you confessed that Senator Bruce was uninspiring and came across as a “small town oil salesman“. But foolishly enough on your part, you lobbied at the end of the video flick to be commissioned to write his autobiography! Was that part of the fake script too? (http://vimeo.com/54686313) – see 23:40. That event did not change your life because you have no business there in the first place. Your mind is too pedestal for that gathering.

Onyeka, I am glad somewhere in your piece, you acknowledged what the whole world already knows – that Ben Murray Bruce is a smart man. It is a shame that you find his airs and confidence condescending! Rather than tap from the reservoir of wisdom and astuteness, you left the venue empty headed and empty handed! What a waste of space! I don’t need to regurgitate the several entrepreneurial success stories of Senator Bruce.

Onyeka, according to your opening remarks in the video flick, you claimed to move from Nigeria to India after school! What school? Secondary or Primary? What are you hiding? What value did you add in India to the Indian community, yourself and the Nigerian communities out there in India. Share some of your antecedents with us.

Yes, Senator Bruce has no doubt flown first class flights in his lifetime and in fact if he hasn’t flown in private jets (stolen, borrowed or bought) at one stage in his life, then he is yet unfulfilled in my opinion. What Senator Bruce is telling you is that as a Nigerian Senator, he would not fly first class with your commonwealth. He also quickly released that picture of him in a first class cabin so that an Onyeka won’t release it in 4 years’ time claiming ‘Bruce flew first class’.

Onyeka, another of your beef with Bruce was that you were unable to access him directly via the telephone number he gave to you! You also felt the story of how he met the Jacksons was too sweet, easy and unbelievable. Let us deal with the vexatious issue of him giving you the telephone number of an associate in case you need to reach him instead of his private one.

Onyeka, I told you earlier that you have no business been among that group. Your IQ is very low with all due respect. As a CEO of at least 5 major household conglomerates in the largest economy in Africa, you would add the title of telephone operator to your job description! You would distract yourself with phone calls, text messages, WhatsApp messages, Tweets, FB updates, etc, etc. Only a nonentity would do such. Senator Bruce has done the right thing. He has passed you on to someone who is paid to do that job. All you need to do is package your proposal, submit same and await a response. That is too hard I guess! On the matter of the Jacksons, how do you think you meet famous people? Onyeka, its very simple abroad. You should know. You have lived in India.

Finally Onyeka, it is only in Nigeria that a secondary school dropout would openly admonish a Professor Emeritus to shut up and only speak when spoken to! WOW! Our system is warped. Our values are debased and about time we pull the brakes starting with you.

REPENT Onyeka, REPENT!
