The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo n’Oba n’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Erediauwa has died at the ripe old age of 92 years old.
Unconfirmed reelers coming from the top hierarchy of the Benin kingdom have it that Oba Ereduwa may have died about a forthnight ago, but tradition in the ancient kingdom states that the death of the Oba shouldn’t be made public until about 30 days.
The vacant throne, which Oba Ereduwa had occupied for 36 years is set to be inherited by Prince Eheneden Erediauwa.
The cause of the Oba’s death has not yet been made public.
