Delta State University, DELSU, in Abraka has dismissed six of its lecturers for allegedly involving themselves in several offences, including sexual harassment of female students.
At its 97th regular meeting which was held on Friday, August 12, 2016, the University Governing Council confirmed the dismissal of the lecturers after a disciplinary committee which was set up to investigate the allegations against the six lecturers had indorsed their removal having found them guilty.
According to reports, the lecturers were also found guilty of being involved in the financial extortion of marks, leaking of examination questions and other corrupt practices.
Four other lecturers were demoted for gross behaviour.
The public relation officer of DELSU, Mr. Eddy Agbure has confirmed the development.
