Seyi Tinubu Denies Orchestrating Attack on NANS Leader, Labels Allegations ‘Completely Fictional’

ABUJA, Nigeria – Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has publicly denied allegations by Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, the newly inaugurated President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), that he orchestrated a violent disruption of the association’s inauguration ceremony in Abuja.

The incident reportedly occurred at the Wells Carlton Hotel in Asokoro, where Comrade Isah claims armed thugs loyal to Tinubu stormed the venue, wielding cutlasses and firearms.

The student leader alleged that the attackers stabbed guests, looted personal belongings, and forced prominent dignitaries, including Senator Ibrahim Shekarau and former Governor Idris Wada, to flee the premises.

Isah further claimed that the attack was politically motivated and linked to an alleged ₦100 million bribe offer he said he was given to align NANS leadership with the Tinubu administration.

Responding via his official Instagram account, Seyi Tinubu categorically denied the allegations, describing them as “baseless,” “defamatory,” and entirely “fictional.”

“I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world,” Tinubu wrote.

“I have never knowingly met him before. Neither did I visit any location with thugs. All these allegations by Atiku Isah are completely fictional,” Tinubu stated.

In a further expression of disbelief, Tinubu added, “Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? Wow, wow… an attempt to defame any character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah.”
