Sierra Leone’s deputy high commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Nelson Williams has reportedly been kidnapped in Kaduna State.
According to citizen reporter website, SaharaReporters, a top military officer confirmed Williams’ kidnapping.
Mr. Williams, who is a retired army general, was abducted along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway on Friday, July 1, 2016 and his kidnappers are asking for “millions of naira” ransom for his release.
The envoy from the West African country was reported to have been en route an event at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Kaduna State when he was attacked by armed militants.
There has been no official statement from security agencies on the kidnapping of the diplomat.
