Ezra 5:2 NKJV “So Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak rose up and began to build the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and the prophets of God were with them, helping them.”
We see politicians, leaders and businessmen and women in church, and we don’t seem to understand why. We think that they are just there to score some more points and probably become more popular; maybe that’s what some do; but those who are wise do so with understanding. They understand the ministry of the prophet!
Ezra 5:2 says that when Zerubbabel and the elders began to build, they were helped by the prophets. Doesn’t mean that the prophets were carrying blocks and mixing cement with the workers; the prophets supported them with prophecies, and they succeeded and prospered as a result. See the verses below:
Ezra 6:14 NKJV “So the elders of the Jews built, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo.”
Haggai 2:4 NKJV “Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the Lord ; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the Lord , ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
To do: Maintain the connection between you and your prophet! He was given to you for your success and prosperity! Your prophet was given to inspire you with the word of God; to urge you to continue and not quit; and of course, to stand in the gap for you.
