John 14:13-14 ERV “And if you ask for anything in my name, I will do it for you. Then the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.”
Jesus did not repeat His words on many occasions, so if He did at anytime it’s because He wanted us to realize how serious and important what He said was.
He said twice that if we ask for anything in His name, He will do it. Question: Does He have the power to do anything we ask for? Yes! All power in heaven and on the earth belong to Him. Another question: Can He be trusted to do what He promised? Yes! He is faithful and just to fulfil all His word!
What interests me is that He didn’t tell us what to ask for! He said twice that we can ask for ANYTHING! Meaning that you and I can ask for anything! I have checked the dictionary to be sure: anything means without limitation; anything means to any degree or extent, at all; anything means no matter what! Oh boy! What are you waiting for! Better start asking in His name! And expect to receive. Be specific and ask according to His will. Make your requests known with thanksgiving and remember to testify.
