Must read

About 15 people have reportedly lost their lives after an attack on Ambe-Madaki village in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State by unknown assailants, suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

Punch gathers that the attack occurred around 4 am on Friday, January 2, 2104 and comes barely a week after about 10 individuals were killed in Tattaura village.

Yohana Adamu, a resident who spoke to Punch via telephone said the Fulanis invaded the village, armed to the teeth with sophisticated weapons, shooting sporadically and setting about 20 houses ablaze.

Adamu further revealed that the attack prompted a protest by residents in the area who marched to the Local Government headquarters in Gwantu to demand justice.

He said: “They came to our village at about 4am today (Friday), armed with sophisticated weapons and started shooting and burning houses. This is the second time they are attacking us after we signed the agreement to live in peace. Last week, they attacked Tattaura village and killed 10 people. We have not compiled the casualty figure yet because some people are still missing, but we have 15 corpses of people who were killed.”

Aminu Lawan, the Kaduna State police spokesman could not be reached for confirmation, although an unauthorized security personnel confirmed the incident.
