KADUNA, Nigeria — President Bola Tinubu’s speech was briefly interrupted on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Kaduna when an unidentified man attempted to breach the president’s security perimeter during a public event.

Tinubu was delivering remarks at the inauguration of key infrastructural projects executed by the administration of Governor Uba Sani when the man suddenly approached the stage.

The president momentarily paused, appearing surprised, as members of his security detail swiftly restrained the intruder.

In a composed but firm response, Tinubu gestured to his security aides and instructed, “Leave him alone,” signalling his desire to de-escalate the situation.

The unidentified individual was promptly escorted away without incident, and the event continued uninterrupted.

Reacting to the incident, O’tega Ogra, the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital and New Media, commended the professionalism of the security personnel on duty.

“Handled with utmost professionalism by secret service agents without any disruption to Mr President’s speech or the event,” Ogra posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“FYI, Mr President is protected by some of the finest, well-trained and most professional officers and agents from our internal security, intelligence, and military institutions.”

The visit to Kaduna was part of President Tinubu’s broader engagement with state governments to promote infrastructure development and strengthen federal-state collaboration.
