Victor Osimhen Turns Down ₦44 Billion Saudi Arabia Offer

Must read

ISTANBUL, Turkey — Nigerian international and Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly rejected a staggering ₦44 billion annual offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, signalling his intent to continue his career in European football.

According to Sky Italy, Al-Hilal tabled a tax-free deal worth £22 million per year — equivalent to £425,000 a week — in a bid to lure the prolific forward to the Saudi Pro League.

Despite the financial appeal of the offer, Osimhen is understood to have declined the terms.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the proposed move is now “on the verge of collapse,” with negotiations breaking down over unresolved terms.

Osimhen, who turned 26 this year, appears focused on remaining within Europe’s top leagues amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Napoli.

The striker recently completed a highly successful loan spell at Turkish side Galatasaray, where he rediscovered his goalscoring form.

He netted 37 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions, playing a central role in helping the Istanbul club clinch both the Turkish Super Lig and Turkish Cup titles.

Galatasaray are reportedly eager to retain Osimhen but are currently unable to meet Napoli’s €75 million release clause.

The Serie A club has made it clear that they will not entertain any bids below the release figure.

Meanwhile, Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea have expressed interest in signing Osimhen, although concerns over his wage demands could pose a significant hurdle.

Both clubs are in the market for a consistent goalscorer but are reportedly assessing the financial feasibility of securing his services.

Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020 and played a pivotal role in their 2022–23 Serie A title win.

With his future still unresolved, speculation continues to mount over where the Nigerian star will land next.
