Must read

The Peoples Democratic Party on Sunday, February 1, 2015 lauded the efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces in repelling attacks by Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram in Maiduguri, Borno State and other parts of Northern Nigeria.

Speaking via a statement in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh said the Nigerian military has proven that their patriotism can ensure the end of insurgency in the country.

While consoling those who have lost loved ones as a result of terror attacks, Metuh said all Nigerians must rally round the Nigerian military so the country could have a common front against terror in the country, irrespective of ethnic and religious setiments.

He said: “What is needed at this point is for all Nigerians to close ranks and support them with words of encouragement, prayers and helpful information where necessary.

“This is no longer the time to dwell on politics or engage in unnecessary blame-games. We cannot continue to seek political capital while terrorists slaughter and maim our people. To win this battle therefore, all citizens must come together, stand with our government and the military and present a common front against terrorism irrespective of our religious, political and ethnic differences.

“Nigeria will come out of all its challenges a stronger, more united and more prosperous nation where all will live in peace and harmony.”
