LOS ANGELES, United States — A Florida woman accused of firing multiple rounds at the home of Rihanna in Los Angeles has pleaded not guilty to a series of felony charges, prosecutors said on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
The defendant, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, is alleged to have discharged about 20 rounds towards the property in the Beverly Crest neighbourhood on March 8 while Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, and their children were present.
Prosecutors told the court that Ortiz’s actions endangered numerous people inside and near the residence.
Deputy District Attorney Alexander Bott said she was “putting numerous lives at risk” when she opened fire.
Charges and Court Proceedings
Ortiz faces one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling and one count of shooting at an inhabited vehicle, according to the criminal complaint.
She is being held on bail set at $1.875 million and has been ordered not to contact Rihanna. If convicted, she could face life imprisonment.
Authorities said the charges relate to 10 alleged victims, including Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, their children, household staff and individuals at a neighbouring residence also struck by gunfire.
Ortiz is scheduled to return to court on April 8, when a date for a preliminary hearing is expected to be set.
Details of the Incident
Police said the suspect drove to the entrance of the property and began shooting. Investigators reported that the front gate, a trailer on the property and a nearby home showed evidence of gunfire. No injuries were reported.
At the time of the incident, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were inside an Airstream trailer located on the property, which authorities counted among the dwellings affected.
Los Angeles police said the shooting involved an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle.
Neighbours told investigators they saw a woman, possibly wearing a wig, driving a white Tesla in the area shortly before gunfire was heard.

Arrest and Evidence
Law enforcement officials said the suspect was later located in the Sherman Oaks area following the use of automatic licence plate recognition technology.
Ortiz was taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop.
According to police, officers recovered a rifle, spent casings and a wig from the vehicle, along with additional ammunition and a 30-round magazine in the trunk.
“The suspect invoked a right to counsel and made no statements,” Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell said.
Responses From Officials
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said the case remains under investigation, including the motive for the shooting, which has not yet been determined.
“When an individual comes into our community and decides to shoot it up, that individual will be arrested and held fully accountable for her actions,” Hochman said at a news conference on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, which has been appointed to represent Ortiz, said it could not comment on the case while proceedings are ongoing but added that it would ensure the defendant receives constitutional protections.
No injuries were reported in the attack.
