Must read

The Chibok community has identified and released the names of the 16 persons abducted from the community on Sunday, September 20, 2015 and called on the federal government and the security operatives to go into action and rescue them before their case becomes like that of the Chibok girls.

Speaking at the #BringBackOurGirls group sit-out on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, the chairman of the Chibok community in Abuja, Tsambido Hosea Abana said that their people back home confirmed the attack on the community and identified some men and woman, who were taken.

Part of the message sent to LEADERSHIP by Abana, noted that on September 20, at about 5am, some people, believed to be members of the Boko Haram sect attacked Kuburyivu village in Chibok LGA of Borno State, killing three persons and took away, in captive, 16 young men and women.

The statement added that those killed include Yaga Allaji, Ayuba Nkeki and Fali Mingla; while those abducted included Ngwaladu Muta, Bindu Mallum, Grace Watsai, Noami Yohanna, Ali Muta, Mohammed Sadiq.

Others are Lawan Sadiq, Lugwa Lalai, Mary Yohanna, Nkeki Ishaya, Glory Maigali, Patuma Dibal, Kwatuwa Dibal and Saraya Dibal.

It would be recalled that the same Chibok LGA, particularly, the Chibok community suffered massive attack on April 14, 2014, when the Boko Haram sect attacked the Government Secondary School, Chibok, abducting 276 girls in their hostel.

While about 57 of these girls escaped, the whereabouts of the remaining 219 are still unknown after over 500 days of search and investigation by both local and foreign governments.

Meanwhile, the #BringBackOurGirls group has called on the Nigerian military to comb the fringes of the Sambisa Forest and rescue the Chibok girls.

One of the members of the group, Chris Okenwa, who spoke at the group’s sit-out yesterday, said “the Sambisa Forest and Mandara mountain should be surveyed so that the military could find our girls. The kidnaps and killing by Boko Haram sect calls for concern. It is unfortunate. They keep saying that our girls are in Sambisa Forest and they don’t know where. This is because even the military do not know the area well.
