One person was declared dead as two groups of thugs clashed in Ilaro, ewa south local government area during an assessment tour by Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
Biodun Sowunmi, an eyewitness who escaped the melee told Vanguard that both sets hoodlums were fighting over “territory”.
The fracas which left many injured did not affect the assessment program as it was saId to have happened outside the venue.
Police public relations officer, Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident and the one death, adding that sixteen people were apprehended in connection to the incident with weapons including for pump action guns, cutlasses, axes and charms recovered from the scene.
