A ten-month-old baby has been rescued after she was found floating nearly 1km out at sea in an inflatable toy.
Turkish coastguard made a dramatic rescue after strong winds took Melda Ilgın Çanakkale beach in Turkey out towards the Greek Island of Lesbos.
The Turkey’s BGN News say the child’s parents had forgotten they had left her in the flotation device.
They did not realise what had happened to Melda until other sunbathers saw the child drifting out to sea.
Other people at beach tried to reach the infant but the current was too strong and they called the coast guard.
The child was picked up and brought back to shore.
