The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, said it had arrested 10 suspects over alleged involvement in cultism in Nyanya area of Abuja.

Anjuguri Manzah, the police public relations officer, PPRO, in the FCT, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, June 28, 2020, in Abuja.

He said that the suspects were arrested following intelligence report and in furtherance to the command’s fight against cultism and other illicit activities.

Manzah said the suspects, who belong to the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, also known as Aro Bager, were arrested by operatives from Nyanya Division on Friday at about 11p.m. during their meeting.

The PPRO said that two cutlasses, one long hammer, one pinches, and one iron bar were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.

He said the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.

Manzah said that the attention of the FCT COVID-19 Enforcement Team had been drawn to a video in circulation over the alleged party attended by Oladapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D-Bang in Abuja.

He said the Chairman of the Enforcement Team and the Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Bala Ciroma, said the video was alleged to have been recorded at a party.

“It is pertinent to state that the venue and time the video was recorded has not been verified.

“Members of the public, with privileged information, are called upon to furnish the FCT COVID-19 Enforcement Team, with details of the said event.

“The Team wish to state that it would not tolerate any violation of the Quarantine act and COVID-19 guidelines,” he said.
