Chilean regions of Atacama, Tarapaca, Antofagasta and Coquimbo were over the weekend hit by deadly floods which left at least 25 people dead, with about over 100 missing, with officials fearing the number of casualties could rise, CNN reports
The Chilean disaster agency also claims that more than 30,000 people were affected by the disaster, with about 3,000 being housed in emergency shelters.
The Chilean government have begun restoring water and electricity, although it is expected to take a long while before the situation is brought to normal.
The authorities have also sent tetanus, rabies, Hepatitis A and flu shots to the area in a bid to stem the spread of diseases.
