3 Persons Abducted In Kogi Regain Freedom

The three people kidnapped last week Thursday, by unknown gunmen, at the Royal Garden Relaxation Spot, along the Anyigba-Ankpa highway, in Egume, Dekina LGA of Kogi State have been freed.

It was gathered that the victims, including an 18-month old boy and a lady, were released on Monday, September 21, 2020, after the payment of ransom.

It would be recalled that gunmen last week Thursday stormed the relaxation spot at about 8.30 pm, killing one Anthony Monday and Kidnapping three the three.

Others that regained their freedom aside from the hotel manager’s 18-months old son include a brother to the late Monday and an unidentified woman.

The gunmen, who were allegedly adorned in Fulani attire, stormed the open arena of the Royal Garden Relaxation Spot shooting sporadically as customers ran for safety in different directions.

The kidnappers it was reported made contact with the family of one of their victims barely 12 hours after their abduction.

Confirming the development, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer Williams Ayah however said that he was not aware of the payment of any ransom.

Ayah, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, said that the command is still on the trail of the criminals, and making all necessary efforts to bring them to book.
