Lagos Bishop Who Released Prophesy Against Tinubu’s Inauguration Arrested In Lagos

LAGOS, Nigeria – An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has remanded Bishop Feyi Daniels, a popular Lagos clergyman and founder of I Reign Christian Ministry, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre on Monday, April 17, 2023, for allegedly raping two of his church members (names withheld).

Judge Ramon Oshodi set the bail at N20 million with two sureties in like sum. The judge stipulated that one of the sureties must be the owner of a build-up property in Lagos State, with a value sufficient to cover the bail sum. “The original document of the landed property must be submitted to the chief registrar of Lagos State. The sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must have three years’ tax payment to the Lagos State,” Oshodi said.

Additionally, the defendant is required to deposit his international passport with the chief registrar of the court, and the judge ordered an accelerated hearing of the case. The case is adjourned until May 9 for trial.

Defence counsel Olukunle Oyewole urged the court to grant bail to the defendant on liberal terms, claiming that Daniels had been on police administrative bail since May 20, 2022, and had made himself available to the police. “The defendant is a well-known religious leader and he has shown by his action that he will not jump bail. The offence for which he is charged is a bailable offence and he has credible sureties that can stand for him,” Oyewole said.

State lead prosecution counsel Babajide Boye, in his counter affidavit dated April 14, urged the court to refuse the bail application of the defendant, but left it at the discretion of the court. Boye argued that the alleged offences were of a serious nature and that the likelihood of conviction might put the defendant at flight risk.

“There is also the possibility of the defendant interfering with the prosecution witnesses. He is a bishop of so many branches and if granted bail, he may use his position to influence the prosecution witnesses as he is regarded as a man of authority who has the possibility of committing the same crime. We urge the court to deny the defendant bail because he has failed to provide the court exceptional circumstances to grant him bail,” the prosecutor submitted.

Bishop Daniels was arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on rape and pleaded not guilty. The prosecution alleges that the offences took place sometime in June 2020 in Ikota Villa Estate, Lekki, Lagos. The alleged offences contravene Sections 260 (2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The Anti-Tinubu Prophesy

Bishop Feyi Daniels made a striking prophecy concerning Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party and the former Lagos State governor, and the 2023 elections.

Prior to the February 2023 election, Prophet Daniels foretold that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, would emerge as the winner.

However, he also predicted that Tinubu would attempt to rig the election and be declared the winner. In a surprising turn of events, the prophecy claimed that an intervention would occur, preventing Tinubu from being sworn in as President on May 29, 2023.

According to Prophet Feyi Daniels, this intervention would result in establishing an interim government led by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. During this transitional period, Peter Obi would ultimately reclaim his rightful mandate and be sworn in as president.

This prophecy has generated considerable debate and speculation among political analysts and the general public, with many waiting anxiously to see if these events will unfold as predicted.

As the nation braces for the aftermath of the problematic election, the prophecy serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of politics and the potential for dramatic changes in Nigeria’s political landscape.
