A 41 year old man identified as Zakari Imam, has been arraigned by the officials of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl (names withheld) at Hadejia City of Jigawa State.
While addressing journalists in Dutse, on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 the state commandant of NSCDC, Dr. Muhmmad Gidado disclosed that the perpetrator of the act had abandoned his motorcycle and fled to a nearby country Niger Republic after committing the unruly act.
Gidado revealed that operatives of NSCDC trailed the criminal to Niger Republic and fished him out from his place of escape where they nabbed him afterwards.
According to the NSCDC commandant, officials of the corps are carrying out proper investigation into the matter. He also assured that the culprit would be brought to book immediately the investigation is over.
Vanguard report says he vowed to bring to book anybody found committing rape in the state, describing it as a barbaric and animalistic behaviour.
Meanwhile, Gidado issued out serious warning to those who have plans in the offing to commit rape urging them to desist from such thoughts let alone the act because they will not get away with such crime in the state.
