A 79-year old man, Michael Salmon is currently under trial following allegations of sexual assault on eight girls between the ages of 11 and 18 between 1973 and 1988.

Metro UK reports that Salmon has pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape, eleven counts of indecent assault and two charges of using an instrument with intent to procure a miscarriage.
One of the victims, whose name was been withheld was said to have approached Salmon in 1984, when she was 16-years over fears that she might be pregnant. The accused reportedly carried out a pregnancy test which returned positive. He then allegedly lured her to his home to carry out an illegal abortion, which left the teenager bleeding and in a great deal of pain.
Salmon then told the young girl to lie on the bed for examination, after she complied, reports say he told her “one favour deserves another” and went ahead to rape her.
He was said to have repeated the act on the same victim after claiming that tests had shown that she was having a twin making it expedient to carry out another abortion.
Salmon is also accused of drugging a patient before sexually assaulting her. Other allegations include fondling the breasts of young girls, under the guise of listening to their hearts; carrying out internal vaginal examinations without a nurse and surgical gloves, a procedure which has no medical necessity.
Reports say the trial will last for four weeks.
