Well, it’s not a complete surprise. We know it’s coming every year, even if we aren’t entirely sure what date it falls on.
But unless school timetables play a big part in your life, Easter has a habit of sneaking up on you.
You go into the long weekend with few expectations and no pressure, and everything that happens is a wonderful bonus.
1. It’s unexpectedly sunny – score!
When the forces of Easter and the first warm weather of the year combine, everyone is in for a helluva treat.
2. It’s snowing – yay!
But, this being the UK, Easter is just as likely to join forces with the last cold snap of the season, which means fewer beer gardens, but more snowmen. Equally joyous.
3. Non-illicit chocolate – great!
This is especially true of anyone who foolishly gave up chocolate for Lent. Easter, along with Christmas, is one of the times of year where you can fill your face with chocolate without fear of judgement. It’s expected.
4. I get Monday off too – brilliant!
That’s a lovely realisation to have on a Sunday evening.
5. I’m drunk in the afternoon – amazing!
People rarely set out to get drunk in the middle of Good Friday – it just happens that way. Easter’s sneaky like that. One glass of bubbly with dinner and before you know it you’re drunk in a play park.
6. I’m having a great time with my family – awesome!
Christmas with the family can be a sort of pressure cooker environment, but Easter with the family is a chilled out, blissful affair.
7. I don’t have to see my family – grand!
People are pretty much obliged to see family over Christmas, whether they want to or not. But if you’d rather spend Easter having fun with your friends, that’s totally allowed! You don’t have to do anything at Easter!
8. Last minute party plans – fantastic!
With all this unexpected spare time on our hands someone’s bound to throw a last minute party. Perhaps it’ll be you. And like all unplanned parties, it’s going to be awesome.
9. ALL the cute animals – yessss!
Easter, as everyone knows, is the official holiday of cute animals. The best we get at Christmas is the odd robin.
