The list of nominees was forwarded to the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emereuwa, through a letter dated Friday, June 30, 2023.

The letter was titled, “Forwarding of Proposed List of Honourable Commissioners and Members of the Abia State Executive Council”.

In the letter, Governor Otti expressed his delight and stated, “I am delighted to forward the following names as my nominees for consideration for the position of Honourable Commissioners and Members of the Abia State Executive Council.”

The 19 Commissioner-nominees are; Prof Monica Ironkwe, Kingsely Anosike, Prof Eme Uche, Philemon Asonye Ogbonna, Mike Akpara (currently the Special Adviser to the Governor on Finance), Ngozi Okoronkwo (currently Special Adviser on Health), Okey Kanu (currently Special Adviser on Communication), Ikechukwu Uwaoma, Chaka Chukwumereije, Uzo Nwachukwu, and Prof Joel Friday Ogbonna.
