AWKA, Nigeria — The head of Anambra State’s public broadcaster has warned employees to exercise caution when commenting on Anambra State politics from their personal social media accounts, saying some workers’ online activity was already being reviewed.
Christopher Osemedua Molokwu, managing director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, issued the warning as Governor Chukwuma Soludo and former governor Peter Obi remain engaged in a public dispute over the state’s finances and outstanding obligations attributed to previous administrations.
In a message to ABS employees reported by The Razor News, Molokwu told workers to be careful about comments concerning Soludo, members of the governor’s family, and Obi, including posts on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
On Monday, September 28, 2026, Molokwu said names of some employees had been submitted to him and that he had personally examined workers’ Facebook pages.
“Some names have been sent to me and I have gone through your Facebook pages and yes I have found some not so good comments about the government of the day,” Molokwu said.
He reminded employees that ABS is owned by the Anambra State Government and described criticism of the administration by public officers employed by the state as unacceptable.

Workers’ Accounts Under Review
Molokwu said social media activity by ABS employees was being examined and urged staff members to reconsider how they engaged with political issues online.
“This is the last time I will talk about this issue. Be warned. Take dressing and repent as public officers,” he said.
The report did not identify the employees whose accounts were said to be under review, disclose the specific posts that had drawn management’s attention, or state whether disciplinary proceedings had been initiated against any worker.
Although The Razor News headlined its report as a warning that workers could “risk” their salaries, the published account did not quote Molokwu explicitly threatening to withhold salaries.
His reported remarks warned employees that their social media activities were being investigated and cautioned them against allowing the matter to become a source of regret.
Dispute Between Soludo and Obi
The warning comes as Soludo’s administration and Obi have exchanged competing claims over debts and financial obligations dating from Obi’s tenure as governor.
The Anambra State Government has alleged that liabilities, including unpaid workers’ entitlements, remained from previous administrations.
Obi has disputed those claims, saying he left office in 2014 without unpaid salaries, gratuities, pensions, or verified obligations to contractors.
Obi has also maintained that he did not borrow money or issue bonds on behalf of Anambra State while governor.
The disagreement has generated a series of public statements from the state government and Obi in recent weeks.
Molokwu Reappointed in July
Soludo reappointed Molokwu to lead ABS on July 28 as part of appointments to several state agencies.
An official Anambra State Government statement listed him among four appointees and said the appointments took immediate effect.
Molokwu formally resumed as substantive managing director on July 30, according to the state government, following an earlier tenure at the broadcaster.
He had originally been appointed to head ABS in September 2024, replacing Chido Obidiegwu.
