Another UNILAG Professor Dies Of COVID-19

A retired professor of Science Education at the University of Lagos, UNILAG, Prof. Duro Ajeyalemi, has died of complications from COVID-19.

He died at the isolation centre at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Idi-Araba, in Lagos on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

This comes three days after a former Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, died of the novel virus.

Prof. Ajeyalemi was the former dean of students affairs of UNILAG and immediate past registrar of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board, JUPEB.

He retired from UNILAG in 2020 after he turned 70 years old.

Born November 7, 1950, Ajeyalemi had his primary education at the St Peter’s School, Ibokun (1956-61); secondary at LA Secondary Modern School, Ibokun (1962) and Kiriji Memorial College, Igbajo (1963-67) before proceeding for his tertiary education at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (1970-72) and UNILAG (1973-76). He had his postgraduate education at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK (1978-81).
