Senator Ayo Akinyelure, One of the leading aspirants jostling for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the November 26th Ondo governorship election, has said that the delegates list being used for the ongoing primary election of the APC is different from the list given to the aspirants at their last meeting in Abuja.
Akinyelure, a former Senator representing Ondo central senatorial district, who was visibly furious by this development said, while speaking with TVC that “to my surprise the list being used for this election is different from the one given to us. There is a lot of changes on the list. So many names have been removed while new ones have been added”
“The list has been changed and this is very bad” he said.
Earlier, The International Events centre – The Dome, venue of the primaries was thrown into rancour over sporadic gunshots. Journalists, passersby, delegates, party supporters, aspirants and others close to the Dome had to scamper for safety.
Some of the delegates who spoke to our correspondent at the venue also berated the heavy security presence at the Dome. They said this could create fear and panic in the mind of the delegate and send wrong signals to the people that the party could not conduct an in-house election without fear of violence.
