A Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, Ondo State on Thursday, April 2, 2015 confirmed the Saturday, August 9, 2014 election of Governor Rauf Aregbesola of State, dismissing a petition by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Iyiola Omisore.
The appellate court, in a unanimous decision delivered by Justice A.G Mshelia said the ground of appeal was incompetent and does not arise from the judgement of the tribunal.
Omisore had earlier lost in a petition he filed against Governor Aregbesola at the elections tribunal, challenging the incumbent’s victory at the polls.
