Chairman of the Silverbird Group and Senator-elect, Ben Murray-Bruce has come out to lampoon Nigerian politicians for their lavish allowances.
Speaking via his official Twitter account, Murray-Bruce, said he will make sure that the remunerations accorded to government officials is considerably trimmed down as it is currently alarming and not commensurate to the achievements done by the said officials.

When I see anger in youths on Twitter, I'm inspired to make a change at the Senate. Don't stop being angry until you see results you want!

As far as I'm concerned, until all state workers are paid their salary, no gov, no commissioner, no SA should collect salary or allowance!

Nigerians are tired of politicians that deliver activity but get paid as if they deliver results. Politics isnt a business. Its a sacrifice.

Constitution allows recall of your Rep/Senator at NASS. Tell them if they don't support reduction in salary/allowances, you'll consider it.
— Ben Murray-Bruce (@benmurraybruce) May 10, 2015
Political parties arent your agent of change. These guys breath in PDP and breath out APC. NASS must Remove Immunity Clause for real change.

Why for instance does Nigeria spend tens of billion sponsoring her rich elite to go on pilgrimage. Why can't they pay out of their pocket?
— Ben Murray-Bruce (@benmurraybruce) May 10, 2015
Rich politicians get free pilgrimage, free medical, free police escort, while those they represent get…..nothing!!! #Nigeriamustchange.

It's unacceptable for a Gov who inherited a surplus from his predecessor to leave debt for the incoming Gov and still want pension for life.

If we must pay our Legislators higher than they pay European Legislators then we must pay our workers higher than they pay European workers!
— Ben Murray-Bruce (@benmurraybruce) May 11, 2015
