Police ordered the evacuation of an English soccer stadium on Sunday, May 15, 2016 where one of the world’s most popular teams was preparing to play. Initial reports cited a bomb threat.
The report proved to be a hoax, but not before Manchester United’s match against Bournemouth was cancelled.

Luckhurst, also of the Manchester Evening News, quoted a senior police officer as saying: “The current threat level of terrorism remains severe.”
Police made another discovery, according to a former soccer star who now is a broadcaster.

Players were on the field warming up when a “code red” was announced over the stadium public address system.
Security officials were cautious in their information, saying only there had been “an incident.”
In November, terrorists set off a series of attacks in Paris and had a soccer stadium on its apparent list of targets. A man wearing a suicide vest detonated his explosives after being denied access to the venue.
The widespread attack left more than 120 people dead in bombings and other attacks across Paris.
