King Of The Blues, B.B. King Dies At 89

The entertainment and music industry has once again been thrown into mourning as guitarist and singer, Riley B. King dies at the age of 89.

King who was popularly known as BB King, the ‘King of the Blues’ rocked the music world with hits like Lucille, Sweet Black Angel and Rock Me Baby.

The singer died in his sleep in Las Vegas on Thursday, May 14, 2015, BBC reports.

He was born on September 15, 1925 in Mississippi and began performing in the 1940s and was a farmhand prior to that.

2011, he ranked sixth on Rolling Stone Magazine’s 100 greatest guitarists of all time.

He received his 15th Grammy award in 2009 for his album One Kind Favour. He was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

His lawyer disclosed that he was recently hospitalised for a diabetes related illness.

Until recently, King performed in at least 100 concerts a year.
