At least five people are feared to have died after a car bomb exploded at a checkpoint in Damaturu, the cpital of Yobe State on Monday, July 20, 2015.
The Cable reports that witnesses and hospital sources availed that the checkpoint, which is on the outskirts of Damaturu is located along a major highway which connects the city to the troubled capital of Borno State, Maiduguri.
It was gathered that the insurgents were heading for the town but detonated the explosives as the policemen in duty insisted in searching their vehicle.
