The Supreme Court on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 upheld the elections of Nyesom Wike as Governor of Rivers State.
Wike, who ran on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), had his election set aside by the the Appeal Court. The apex court maintained that he was the duly elected governor of Rivers State as it set aside the Appeal Court ruling favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dakuku Peterside.
