Britain’s Prince Harry and American actor Meghan Markle are engaged, according to a statement from Kensington Palace. The wedding will take place early in 2018.
“Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents,” Kensington Palace announced in a statement on micro-blogging website Twitter, Monday, November 27, 2017.

The pair became engaged earlier this month and will live at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, the statement continued.
Monday’s announcement ends persistent speculation over when the 33-year-old prince – who is now fifth in line to the British throne – would propose to the actor.
Parents of the two have agreed to the union, the British Royal family announced.

Meghan Markle, 36, is a model and actor who has starred in the American legal drama Suits since 2011. She is also known for her role as special agent Amy Jessup in the sci-fi film, Fringe.
She is mixed race. Her father is white while her mother is African-American. She grew up in Hollywood and had her elementary education in private schools. She is a graduate of Northwestern University.
Markle was married to actor and producer Trevor Engelson between 2011 and 2013 when they divorced.
She is a distant relative of Prince Harry and has a colourful ancestry related to the British royal family. On her mother’s side, her ancestors were Africans held as slaves in the plantations of America.
