The Jamaican 4×100 metres men relay team has won gold at the ongoing world athletics championship in Beijing, China while the Chinese team won silver medal.

The Chinese team surprisingly won silver after the American team which originally took second were disqualified for an illegal baton exchange. The Canadian team which originally took fourth have now been upgraded to Bronze medalists.

Mike Rodgers who took the last lap of the race for the American team wasn’t handed the baton properly by Tyson Gay and this cost them a silver medal. Mike Rodgers did not take the baton in time before he crossed the yellow line.

Usain Bolt crossed the line in 37.36 seconds. USA finished in 37.77 seconds but were disqualified. China therefore finished with silver in 38.01 seconds.

This is Usain Bolt’s 11th World Championship Gold.
