Buhari Meets With APC Governors In Daura

Muhammadu Buhari, the president of Nigeria, met behind closed door with eighteen state governors of the APC Governors’ Forum in Daura, Katsina State on Friday February 16, 2018.

Three of the governors were represented by their deputies at the meeting, which started at about 2.45 p.m.

The governors attending the meeting include Abdulaziz Yari, the chairman of the Governors’ Forum and the governor of Zamfara, Rochas Okorocha, Imo, Abubakar Muhammed, Bauchi, Kashim Shettima, Borno, Abiola Ajimobi, Oyo  and the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufa’i.

Others are Badaru Abubakar, the governor of Jigawa, Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano, Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo, Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi, Atiku Bagudu, the governor of Kebbi, Abubakar Sani-Bello, the governor of Niger, and Tanko Al-Makura, the governor of Nasarawa State, while the governors of Benue, Osun and Ogun were represented by their deputies.

The governors of Yobe and Plateau were also represented at the meeting.

According to Vanguard, Buhari on Thursday arrived his home town, Daura, Katsina state, to commiserate with members of his extended family who were bereaved recently.

The presidential aircraft carrying the president and some members of his encourage landed at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport at about 4.40p.m.

The President, who was welcomed at the airport by Gov. Aminu Masari and a large crowd of supporters and well-wishers, boarded a presidential helicopter that conveyed him to Daura.
