President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday presided over a meeting ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention.
Buhari conferred with National Assembly leadership and some principal officers as part of efforts to ensure a successful event and outcome.
Present at the State House parley were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government (SGF) Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff Ibrahim Gambari.
The NASS leaders include Senate President Ahmed Lawan, House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Speaker Ahmed Wase.
Senate Chief Whip Orji Kalu, House of Reps Chief Whip Alhassan Doguwa, Senator Ajayi Boroffice and other selected lawmakers also attended.
Earlier, the President held a similar meeting with APC governors and national chairmanship aspirants.
The ruling party’s convention scheduled for Saturday will be held at Eagle Square in Abuja.
