Buhari’s Daughter Fatimah Speaks Of Being Surprised At Her Wedding [WATCH]

Must read

Fatimah, the second daughter of Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari got married to Yau Kumo Gimba, a former managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, on Friday, October 28, 2016.

There’s a trending video in which the president’s daughter expresses surprise at the turnout at her wedding, which her father did not attend.  Aisha Buhari, the wife of the president, was also missing from the published photos from the ceremony.

Nigerian News Agency had reported a heavy deployment of security personnel in and around the residence of the president on Mai’adua road in Daura town.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Fatimah said she was happy to see the attendance given the “very short notice given to everyone”.

“I am really surprised about the turn out because it was a short notice to everyone, so seeing so many people, am very happy,” the new bride, who became the 4th wife of the ex-banker, said.

The marriage was contracted in accordance with Islamic injunctions and was attended by top federal and state government officials.

They included Gombe state governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo and Bauchi state governor, Muhammad Abubakar. Ministers at the occasion were Abdurrahman Dambazau (interior), Mansur Dan-Ali (defence), and Kayode Fayemi (solid minerals).

Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police; Muhammad Babandede, comptroller-general of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS); and Lawal Daura, director-general, Department of State Service, also graced the occasion.

Fatima’s wedding did not go without a pre-ceremony controversy though. In a moment of pettiness and insecurity, a senior wife decided to take to Instagram to “dish out some shade”, comparing herself with the president’s daughter, ostentatiously trying to put down the new bribe.
