Two key members of the victorious Golden Eaglets who won the Chile 2015 under-17 world cup have spoken up about the massive influence coach Emmanuel Amuneke had on them.
Golden boot and silver ball winner at the competition, Victor Osimhen dedicated his golden boot and record 10 goals to coach Emmanuel Amuneke and his sister who recently gave birth. Speaking after receiving the top scorer award, he said:
“I want to thank coach Amuneke again for what he has impacted in us and I’m also grateful to my teammates who helped me to break the record.
“The Golden Boot is also dedicated to my sister who just had a baby girl,” he explained.
Kelechi Nwakali who received the Golden ball and Bronze boot award for being the tournament’s best player and third highest goal scorer respectively also spoke about coach Emmanuel Amuneke.
“Coach Amuneke is more than a coach to us. He is a father and I want to thank him so much. It is always the dream of every young player to win the World Cup and we are happy that he has helped us to achieve this glory,” the skipper of the Nigerian side explained.
