Court Registrar Slaps Woman For Demanding N50 For ‘Nunu’ He Bought

Pandemonium broke out at the Magistrate’s Court II at Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, when the registrar of the court, Joseph Obaje, slapped a 38-year old woman because she demanded her pay of the fresh cow milk, popularly called Nunu, worth N50 which he bought from her.

The husband of the woman is said to be unhappy over the development and had subsequently dragged the Registrar to Magistrate Court I to seek redress.

It was learnt that the victim, Lado Ibrahim, who is a mother of five from Fulani descent who deals on fresh cow milk, had gone into the court to ask the registrar for her money in a persistent manner which irked the accused and made him slap her.

In addition, it was gathered that he had gone further to accuse the woman of being a prostitute which spurred the intervention of a group known as Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Katagum Local Government Area.

While addressing journalists, the National Deputy Chairman II of the association, Muhammad Geri, disclosed that but for their timely intervention, the incident would have gone out of hand to a more severe religious crisis.

Speaking about the man who had dragged the registrar to cout for slapping his wife, Geri said, “He is a peaceful man and does not want to take the law into his hands, so he went to court.”
