A yet-to-be identified male student of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, Ethiope West council area, has been murdered by unknown hoodlums.
According to reports, the incident happened on Saturday, January 30, 2021, on the school campus.
Details of the incident were sketchy as of the time of filing this report but there are speculations that it may be cult-related.
Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the Delta State police public relations officer, confirmed the incident on Sunday, January 31, 2021.
“It is true. The report is that the girl (girlfriend of deceased) said she and her boyfriend went to settle scores with one lecturer somewhere and as they were coming out of the place, about four people now dragged the boyfriend into the bush.
“She was the one that ran to the Police to report. When the police got there he was stabbed with an axe and all those things.
“So Police took him to the hospital and doctor confirmed that he was already dead,” the PPRO said.
